Perhaps some of you didn’t enjoy and appreciate history when you were in school. Maybe you didn’t see the relevance of studying about dead people and past events. You were young and you wanted to live your life today!
But past history affects today. And it affects not only us, but our children. So, throughout this psalm, I want us to learn how to APPLY HISTORY FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.
In describing the actions of the scribes and Pharisees, Jesus showed that there are two foundations for authority, one derived from God's Word and the other derived from man's imagination. We need to understand these two foundations so that we are sure to build our lives upon the proper foundation. This week we will look at the authority that is derived from God's Word, and next week we will look at the authority that is derived from Man's Imagination.
Perhaps you are a rebel running from God. You have been the king of your own life, and you have thought that you are in control. How long will you stubbornly resist the call of God to repent? God will not wait for any man. There are some that he is calling to stand before him even now. First comes death, then comes judgment, the Bible says.
